Your S.M.A.R.T. Goals – Smart or Not? – Part Two
There is an abundance of information out there regarding S.M.A.R.T. goals. Content is being churned out by HR departments, universities, and other think tanks and bloggers; some of it good and a lot of it not so good.
For a long time I spoke about how S.M.A.R.T. goals are not always smart and how they have the potential to limit you and give you a false sense of accomplishment. Since my company, LMI-USA actually owns the registered trademark on S.M.A.R.T goals, I thought I would take a deep dive here and explain why this is still true and how you can blend in S.M.A.R.T. goals to help you make quantum leaps in the direction of your big dream goals for yourself personally, professionally, and for your organization.
This episode is part two on this subject and I go deeper into the S.M.A.R.T. format focusing on the ‘specific, measurable, attainable and realistic‘ aspects of your goals. In the next episode I will wrap up this mini- series and discuss the ‘tangible’ element of your S.M.A.R.T. goals.
These episodes clearly define each element within this goal setting process. Learn the most effective and efficient way to apply this process properly and your results will be astonishing.
