S.M.A.R.T. Goals – Smart or Not So Smart? – Part One

For a long time I spoke about how S.M.A.R.T. goals are not always smart and how they have the potential to limit you and give you a false sense of accomplishment. Since my company, LMI-USA actually owns the registered trademark on S.M.A.R.T goals, I thought I would take a deep dive here and explain why this is still true and how you can blend in S.M.A.R.T. goals to help you make quantum leaps in the direction of your big dream goals for yourself personally and your organization.

There is an abundance of information out there regarding this topic. Content is being churned out by HR departments, universities, and other think tanks and bloggers; some of it good and a lot of it not so good.

Within this episode and over the next few episodes, I will explore and clearly define each element within this goal setting process. Learn the most effective and efficient way to apply this process properly and your results will be astonishing.

Paradigm Purge II – Your Next Success Step

You can’t ignore this part of the goal achievement process or you will end up stuck in the same place you have always been. This goes for individuals pursuing their dreams, small business owners seeking growth, and the corporate team seeking to improve performance and productivity while also influencing corporate culture.

There is absolutely no way around this step, yet ironically, most individuals and companies place little or no emphasis on paradigm identification and alteration which is always the root cause of the undesirable results (effect.)

This is episode number two on this topic, however if you search the history of this show on the website, you’ll find an abundance of episodes devoted to paradigm shifting over the last few years.

In this episode, I will help you to get started on the replacement process. If you now understand just what a paradigm is and have successfully identified some of your own success inhibitors, you must now learn how to go about changing them and replacing them with new conditioning that supports goal achievement.

Listen in now rather than moving on to unproductive activity that no longer serves you. This is a step you must take.

Included in this episode is an exercise you can begin at once to help you identify, personal, professional and corporate paradigms.

Listen in now rather than moving on to unproductive activity that no longer serves you. This is a step you must take.

Developing Desire and Passion – Step 5

This episode will wrap up this mini-series about learning how to develop desire and passion, in yourself and others, and how it is a unique leadership skill that is essential for your desired growth.

I shared how desire and passion are necessary elements in the pursuit of worthy ideals especially when it comes to making those quantum leaps in the direction of all you desire to experience personally and professionally.

I shared key points from the book “The 5 Pillars of Leadership; How to Bridge the Leadership Gap” by Paul J. Meyer, founder of Leadership Management International and Rand Slechta, LMI’s current CEO, here’s one that relates to our series topic:

“The desire and passion with which you and your team members face a challenge is an essential part of the soul of your organization. Without it, you and your team lack spiritual guidance and creative expression. Without desire and passion, there is no intuition; missing is the still small voice within you to provide insight into both situations and people. Without desire and passion, all of your talents and abilities tend to lie fallow and unresponsive; your potential is hidden, buried and dormant.”

In the last episode I explored step four, this episode focuses on step five, our final step. It’s about going to work deliberately, every day, on our desired objective. Working harder. I really suggest going back and listening to all five of these episodes together and join me as I take a deep dive into all five steps to developing desire and passion as shared by these two brilliant authors in this spectacular book. I highly recommend you get your own copy.

Set the intention now to no longer allow your infinite potential to remain hidden, buried and dormant. Commit to not only listening to this podcast but also applying the wisdom shared to your unique situation and taking action based on what you take away from these episodes.

Time Augmentation – Productive and Efficient Usage

How would you like to move in the equivalent of approximately twenty-two eight hour workdays into your year? That’s a little over four weeks! If you’re a business executive feel free to do a little math. What if your team of ten all did the same thing? That would add up to over forty-five weeks of productive work hours per year, almost another employee! How about your team of twenty, thirty or more!?

In the last episode I talked about starting now to develop your strategic plan after you identify, in six key areas, that which you desire to accomplish in the coming months and the coming new year. I talked about how to plan properly, efficiently, and in an orderly way, making sure you understood there is a certain way to make more effective use of your time.

A more efficient use of your time increases productivity period. If you are an individual working on personal goals and self-improvement, a small business owner growing your business, or if you’re in charge of a corporate team; productivity is the very foundation of success.

To accomplish more, to do better and become a better version of you, productivity is the key. If you want to make quantum leaps when it comes to goal achievement and experience personal and professional success and transformation, it all starts here.
