Developing Desire and Passion – Step 5

This episode will wrap up this mini-series about learning how to develop desire and passion, in yourself and others, and how it is a unique leadership skill that is essential for your desired growth.

I shared how desire and passion are necessary elements in the pursuit of worthy ideals especially when it comes to making those quantum leaps in the direction of all you desire to experience personally and professionally.

I shared key points from the book “The 5 Pillars of Leadership; How to Bridge the Leadership Gap” by Paul J. Meyer, founder of Leadership Management International and Rand Slechta, LMI’s current CEO, here’s one that relates to our series topic:

“The desire and passion with which you and your team members face a challenge is an essential part of the soul of your organization. Without it, you and your team lack spiritual guidance and creative expression. Without desire and passion, there is no intuition; missing is the still small voice within you to provide insight into both situations and people. Without desire and passion, all of your talents and abilities tend to lie fallow and unresponsive; your potential is hidden, buried and dormant.”

In the last episode I explored step four, this episode focuses on step five, our final step. It’s about going to work deliberately, every day, on our desired objective. Working harder. I really suggest going back and listening to all five of these episodes together and join me as I take a deep dive into all five steps to developing desire and passion as shared by these two brilliant authors in this spectacular book. I highly recommend you get your own copy.

Set the intention now to no longer allow your infinite potential to remain hidden, buried and dormant. Commit to not only listening to this podcast but also applying the wisdom shared to your unique situation and taking action based on what you take away from these episodes.

Personal Success Plan – Paul J Meyer

Like me, you have most likely come across many daily bullet point lists that aim to help keep you on the path of success, achievement, accomplishment and personal and professional development. Most of these list are very good, and if followed, should help you with your daily performance and productivity.

For me, it’s all about the feeling of enthusiasm and passion I feel for what is mine to do. I recently came across another success plan list that stirs up that inner zeal and really helps me to stay focused on my tasks.

It is the Personal Success Plan authored by Paul J. Meyer.

I discovered this success plan because I recently became a franchise partner of Leadership Management International founded by the late Paul J. Meyer who you could argue is really one of the founders of the whole personal development industry.

This from the LMI-WORLD website:

“Fueled by a vivid imagination, a burning desire to achieve excellence, and the steadfast belief that he could inspire and motivate people, Meyer developed a vision for the future. More than 60 years ago, Paul breathed life into his vision, and Success Motivation® International (SMI®) was born.

Focusing on a sole purpose — “Motivating people to their full potential® — SMI got its start in a rented repair shop and grew to become the market leader in its industry. This flagship organization gained global renown and earned Meyer a reputation as the pioneer of the personal development industry.

In 1966, Meyer broadened his vision by founding Leadership Motivation Inc. which would eventually become Leadership Management® International (LMI®). Expanding on the formula behind SMI’s success, LMI set out on a new mission, “Developing leaders and organizations to their full potential™.”

In this podcast I share, with enthusiasm, this five point list with you my listeners. I invite and encourage you to listen now, get excited about it’s application in your personal and professional life, and stay in alignment with its instruction.
